At Bramble and Gorse we offer a range of fun and interactive navigation courses, workshops and events, catering to all levels. Our expert instructors deliver a variety of navigation courses and workshops in locations such as the Surrey Hills, the New Forest, the Chiltern Hills, Kent and Hampshire.

Introduction to Navigation Courses

A one day introduction to navigation course is an ideal workshop for those wanting to get to grips with map reading and gain confidence in heading off on a walk! We look at the basics of map reading, how to plan a route and head out on the footpaths to put theory into action.

Navigate with Confidence Workshops

Take your navigation to the next level. Building on the introduction to navigation course, this workshop is aimed at more confident naviagtors looking to refine their skills.

Group Walks

Join us on a group walk in a variety of locations. Each walk will be described at the fitness level needed. We will do all the route planning, and will take you on a walk to practice those navigation skills, and give you more confidence in the outdoors. Adults Exploring

  • Do you like the idea of doing a multi-day hike?
  • Unsure if you’ve got the right skills or equipment?
  • Want to relive your Duke of Edinburgh expedition experience, or have a go for the first time?

Our Adults exploring package is a 2- day, 1- night adventure which covers:

  • An introduction to Navigation
  • Overnight camping
  • A supported independent walk which you’ve planned
  • Camping kit provided

My First Camp

Worried about taking the family away camping for the first time? Furthermore not sure about how to light a campfire for that s’mores experience? Join us for a weekend to learn those skills together. We will pitch our tents, talk through kit you need (and you get to try out ours), do some fun activities together, and (weather permitting) will toast some marshmallows!

Weekends Away

Throughout the year we will be organising weekends away. Join us for a weekend of learning new skills including navigation or bush craft, while also learning something about a new area.

Events

Looking for something a bit different for your event? In addition to courses we can run a private workshop for your event. Get in touch to let us help you sort your family get away, stag or hen do, similarly your meet up with long lost friends or corporate day out with a difference. We can also provide support for youth groups or schools planning a navigation course or bushcraft workshop.
