We run a 1-day introduction to navigation course in a number of locations, such as the Surrey Hills, Kent, and Hampshire, providing participants with diverse opportunities for learning and exploration.
The day is structured from 0900-1630. Our day unfolds with classroom-based sessions in the morning, subsequently followed by outdoor skills practice.
By the end of the day, you should feel confident using an Ordnance Survey map to plan a route; consequently, you’ll have the navigation skills to walk it with confidence.

What will you need to attend the Introduction to Navigation Course?
We aim to deliver the course no matter the weather, so please bring appropriate clothing for the forecast.
We recommend wearing a pair of shoes with good grip on public footpaths, as they could be muddy or slippery depending on the local conditions.
Lunch! We will provide tea and coffee making facilities, but please bring a packed lunch, or some money to pop to a nearby shop (location dependant).
Both a notebook and pen if you would like to take any notes.
